Background
As the premier accounting firm in Northern New York, Dragon Benware Crowley & Co., P.C. is a multi-office, full-service CPA firm. Founded in 1916, the firm has grown through client referrals, as well as mergers and acquisitions. With 6 offices in Northern New York - Malone, Watertown, Canton, Massena, Lake Placid and Plattsburgh, we provide service to a large geographical area while still retaining the accessibility that is the hallmark of local firms. Our firm has established a separate auditing department with personnel located in our three major offices, Malone, Watertown and Lake Placid.
The size of our firm is important. It is small enough to permit an unusual degree of personal service, but large enough to offer every type of professional support demanded by the modern-day client.
Philosophy
We are a management-oriented firm. Our philosophy is that our services should extend beyond audits, reviews, and tax return preparation. We believe that our services should be comprehensive and that audit and other services should be designed with an eye towards helping our clients to improve their accounting and control systems, identify problem areas, and develop solutions to the problems. Our professionals are carefully selected to be certain that their training and talents are utilized in the most efficient manner to help our clients reach their goals.
Goals
In order to successfully help our clients realize these goals, we try to establish a continuing relationship. This enables us to become effective advisors to our clients' management throughout the year. We also try to help our clients develop a better understanding of their reporting requirements, the audit process (if applicable), and of new ways to help them streamline their bookkeeping processes. This is accomplished through the use of informal discussions and, in some cases, formal workshops or training sessions.
We encourage our clients to let us be active participants with them. Our approach is to help solve issues during the year, rather than wait for the end of the year. This also helps us to better understand the issues and provides benefits to our clients.
